An Inspiring Scripture For Today

Friday, January 26th, 2018

“Look up your eyes to heaven and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who brings out their army by number; he calls them all by name. Because of his vast dynamic energy and his awe-inspiring power, not one of them is missing.”

Isaiah 40:26

Doesn’t this Scripture give us confidence in our Creator and a sense of security? We know that we are cared for and loved by the strongest and kindest One in the entire universe! He is responsible for the beauty and amazing intricacy of everything around and beyond us!

Without His love for us and His provisions for us, there would have been no life, for He designed and then brought to fruition all that we hold dear…all the loveliness and grandeur of life itself!

Doesn’t that knowledge inspire and encourage us? Doesn’t that make our day? It certainly makes mine!

So let’s look up at the sky and at the loveliness of the natural world as we go about our daily routine today! We may think 🤔 about what we observe a little differently if we don’t take all this wonder for granted!

A Really Inspirational Scripture

Wednesday, January 24th, 2018

I don’t know of a person who hasn’t been inspired, (regardless of the season or the time or the place) by the beautiful Scripture below:

“Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts snd your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4: 6,7

I know that, when I pray with all my heart, pouring out my feelings to God, I feel relief afterwards, knowing that God is close and listening to what I am saying! I believe that most people react the same way. There is something then about the effects of praying to God.

But it isn’t only praying to God. It is having a strong faith that makes us know that, even though we cannot see or hear our Creator, He hears us neverthrless and is so interested in us that He listens intently and finds a way to help us with whatever problem we may have.

So what we need to do is strengthen our faith if the miracle of prayer can work. God will help us if He knows we have faith that He can accomplish anything He decides to do!

Finally, we want to be sure that God knows how appreciative we are by thanking Him for our blessings in prayer and in our conversations with other people. We should show that we are thankful by word and deed for all the blessings that God has bestowed upon us.

The Scriptures at Philippians 6: 4 and 7 Can lift our spirits almost immediately! I highly recommend reading them, meditating upon what they mean to you and praying to God many times each day! God bless you and your family, and have a great day!

Beating Anxiety…

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018

Here are two of my favorite anti-anxiety Scriptures: (I know! They are all my favorites!)

“Who of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his life span?”

Matthew 6:27

“So never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles.”

Matthew 6:24

Anxiety or excessive worrying causes stress, and stress can cause so many physical and emotional 😭 problems! Since anything that causes us to be anxious 😧 is not good, to be sure, let’s get rid of as much anxiety as possible!

The Mayo Clinic defines anxiety as “intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Often, anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks)”.
So anxiety never improves any situation but only makes it worse. If you can distract yourself from worrying by thinking about something that makes you happy, that certainly helps since we humans cannot think of two different things at the same time! Block the negative 👎 and bring into mind the positive! Don’t let the bleak, depressing thoughts dominate your mind!

In this challenging life, on an everyday basis, there are problems that we have to face…so why worry about tomorrow’s problems today? It doesn’t really make sense, does it? Getting a 🤚 handle on today’s problems is more than enough!

As Jesus tells us, today’s problems are enough to contend with! After all, we are only human, and there is only so much that we are equipped to cope with.

Naturally, if our anxiety is extreme, professional help may be necessary, but the Scriptures provide common sense, practical and effective ways to live our lives to the fullest, to be free of unnecessary stress and to find happiness!

Let us pray for inner peace, read the Bible, especially those Scriptures that bring us great comfort, and enjoy 😉 the day…as free from anxiety as humanly possible!

Where Can We “Throw Our Burdens”?

Monday, January 22nd, 2018

Life is filled with challenges of all kinds. So sometimes, we feel completely overwhelmed! Whom do we turn to?

Only God can help us to bear our burdens or even, when necessary, carry them for us! Let’s look at Psalm 55:22! “Throw your burden on Jehovah, And He will sustain you. Never will He allow the righteous one to fall.”

When we feel depressed, hopeless, or just unusually sad,it is important to realize that we are not alone. God is always there, ready to hear our prayers and draw close to us as we draw close to Him. (James 4:8). But we have to reach out to Him for help!

We’re not strong enough to sustain all the “missiles” thrown at us by the malevolent forces in life. Humans are not equipped to deal with everything with which they are confronted! So we pray to God, read His Word, the Bible, and Bible-based literature like the “Watchtower” and “Awake” magazines. God is in control all the time, and if we trust in him and have strong faith in His ability to help us, we will see how we will find a way to solve even our most difficult problems!

Pouring out our hearts to God, leaning on him and applying His wise counsel to our everyday lives bring us close to God and substitutes hope for despair and positivity for negativity.

We have to remember that God loves us and will continue to help us as long as we reach out to Him. So let’s not try to solve all our problems alone! We’re not meant to or even built to sustain the weight of the world around us! Remember Jeremiah 10:23!

“I well know , O Jehovah, that man’s way does not belong to him.
It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”

Let’s look up at the heavens and know in our hearts 💕 that we are never alone!

Some More Feel-Better ideas!

Sunday, January 21st, 2018

Many of us experience anxiety in our lives. The Bible helps us to cope with and also alleviate some of these feelings by helping us to connect with our Creator and develop a warm and loving relationship with Him. Nothing else can compare with His love and concern for us!

I will include many Scriptures that will help with anxiety over the next few days. Today, I will elaborate upon one.

So meditate upon these Scriptures at any time, but especially when you experience any degree of anxiety! Also, let’s ask God to build up our faith!

One of my favorite Scriptures and a special one for a number of my friends is found in Isaiah 41:10. It says,”Do not be afraid, for I am with you.
“Do not be anxious, for I am your God.
I will fortify you. Yes, I will help you,
I will really hold onto you with my right hand of righteousness.”

Life is not easy, and many times, we are afraid. But if we reach out to God in prayer, He will reach out to us(James 4:8), and we will experience a peace that is unparalleled!

When we are little and afraid, we are so relieved and happy to hold the hand of our mom or dad (or both) as we walk down the street. We know deep inside that they will do everything in their power to prevent anything bad from happening to us because they love 💗 us and want the best for us! Their holding our hands strengthens us and increases our faith in them and in us!

In an even greater way, reaching out to God at any time that the need is strong, fortifies us and allows us to keep going in faith and in love! In a figurative sense, God is holding our hand, too, as we read His Word, the Bible!

If we keep meditating on God’s Love for us and keep reading the Bible, other Scriptures will help us as well and keep strengthening the bond between God, His Son, and us! Soon, the fears and anxieties will lessen, and our faith and Hope for a beautiful future in Paradise one day, will keep growing!

Tomorrow, more anxiety-lessening Scriptures and other ways to fight the blues!

I highly recommend turning to my favorite website. for books, magazines, brochures, music and videos that are Bible-based and will greatly strengthen your faith and elevate your mood!

Comfort From God’s Word

Wednesday, January 17th, 2018

Every day is the right time to receive comfort and guidance from the best-seller of all time: God’s Word, the Bible. The Sermon on the Mount, which is found in Chapters 5, 6 and 7 of the Book of Matthew in the New Testament or Greek Scriptures, contains unparalleled wisdom from the Almighty God’s Son, Jesus. Today I want to discuss one well-known Scripture from this especially beautiful and insightful part of the Bible. (one of my favorites)

So let’s look at Matthew 7:12. It says, “All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must do to them. This, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean.”

Even if you are not an avid Bible reader, this Scripture will sound very familiar because we all know it as “the Golden Rule.” It tells us very simply that the best advice in getting along with others is to treat them exactly the way we would want to be treated. We want others to be honest with us in every way; therefore, it is important that we be honest with everyone, too. We desire to be treated kindly with consideration and respect. Therefore, this is the way we should treat others. Another very special illustration, to me, is that we all want to have love in our lives. we all need agape or principled Love in our lives from our fellow human beings. Therefore, we have to know how to give Love in order to receive it.

Some would say that these ideas are simple, but the simplest ideas are the most profound… if we really think about it! God gave the greatest insight to the meek ones, for they “will possess the earth” one day! (Psalm 37:11). (Also 1 Corinthians 1:28)

Some Fun activities to Increase Your Happiness Level!

Wednesday, January 17th, 2018

Tonight’s post contains suggestions that you will 😉 enjoy following! Here are a few that are easy to implement!

It is so much fun to send someone special a package of delicious cookies, (store-bought or baked) a cake (store-bought or baked), a box of candy or a beautiful arrangement of flowers! It actually feels even better to send one of these fabulous gifts 🎁 than to receive one of them. I like to visualize how happy the recipient will be, and, that, in turn, makes us happy!

I have both sent and received numerous gifts like these, and both feel really good! Sending the gifts makes us happy because we’re bringing happiness to others! Receiving them brings happiness, not only for the sweetness of the gifts themselves, but because someone thought enough of us to take the time to select the gift, pay for it and send it to us!

When we feel down ourselves, surprising someone else with a present brings the joy of helping another, showing compassion and providing encouragement!

Receiving something special from a good friend or family member makes us feel we are loved, and someone cares about our well-being and our situation and wants us to feel better! How could that make us feel anything but great?

Another thing we might want to do is to invite a friend or a good acquaintance to our house to share a simple meal or even just coffee and cake! It is lovely to invite people to study the Bible with us! It helps us all to share the Scriptures with those we care for!

So these are just a few suggestions to make us feel better these days and combat the winter blues! Please apply them and check in with me tomorrow for more!

Some More Ways To Combat the January Blues

Tuesday, January 16th, 2018

“Your Word is a lamp to my foot,
And a light to my roadway.”

Psalm 119:105

When we feel down, and it is no reflection on us that we do sometimes with the sadness of the world we live in today, one of the best antidotes is reading a part of the Bible and meditating upon its meaning. Once we realize just how much God loves us and the beautiful future He has in store for us, as shown in His Word, the Bible, we can find inner peace and hope for the future! I recommend for many hours of beautiful videos, magazines, books, songs and much more, that will inspire you greatly, but my article today is simply on what this Scripture …Psalm 119:105…means to me, and how I can apply it to my life…and how, perhaps, you will want to apply it to yours!

The Bible brings us out of darkness into light. It gives us hope, based, not only on faith, but on actual evidence! The Bible includes science, health advice, history, beautiful poems and songs, and so much more! Reading our favorite Books of the Bible, and there are 66!) can make a dreary day become an exciting, cheerful one!

So in this series of finding ways to rekindle our faith in life and to make ourselves and others happier, Bible reading is up there!

Let’s make it an everyday practice to read a little of the Sceiptures in any order that we would like! It will have a calming and inspiring effect and help us to continue with our day with more vitality, hope and love 💗!

So today’s advice on combatting the Jsnuary blues ( and any month’s blues) is to find our Bible, open it up, and start reading!

More on Fighting the Winter Blues

Tuesday, January 16th, 2018

In my previous post, I expanded upon a few ways that we can help ourselves to fight the winter blues by helping another. Tonight I would like to add to these suggestions.

For example, we all have a friend who is going through a rough patch and could use some kindness and understanding from you or me. Why not call him or her? (No e-mails or texting except as a last resort if you can’t get your friend in by phone)! We can have no idea how hearing from a friend can lighten s dark mood.

The conversation can begin with small talk, but gradually we can ask our friend how things are going and allow him/her to vent. Talking about a problem sometimes brings it down to size. Often, like client-centered psychotherapy, just listening to friends can help them to see their issues and problems in a different light that can mitigate their power over them and help them to find new ways of solving their own problems!

Another thing we can do is to send a really cheerful 😀 card to someone who isn’t feeling well and needs comfort and understanding. E-mails and texts just don’t do the same thing. I guess that’s because they’re not personal enough!

We should do more than signing the card. Instead, we should include a little message of encouragement! We can also include an invitation to come over to your house, leaving the specific time open to your convenience and your friend’s. It is amazing how much good a card can do, followed up with an invitation to get together! It’s great to receive a lovely card, but there’s nothing like talking face to face!

I still have many other ideas to share with you! Just visit this website tomorrow!

Some Suggestions To Calm the Winter Blues

Sunday, January 14th, 2018

Some of us feel a little depressed during the challenging month of January. As I said in a previous article, the bustling month of December is over, the temperature has plummeted in most parts, and many have at least a mild case of the flu or the blues. What can be done before the feelings get worse! Is it time to seek professional help?

Not necessarily! Let’s see what can be done before we depend upon the professionals!

I have so many ideas that I’m going to discuss only a couple each day! This way I can go into them in more detail and provide more examples. So, if you’re ready, let’s go!

Here are two suggestions that I hope will inspire you and you can apply right away! One is, “Whatever you can imagine can become your reality if you want it enough!” Closely aligned to that is, ”Each new day is an opportunity for another chance at improving yourself and fulfilling your passion in life.” Exactly how can these ideas help us? Let’s see!

Remember that Jesus once said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) To me, this means that, if we have faith in God and in His ability to help us, we are all capable of doing whatever we feel is best for us! The lack of depth to our imagination is our only limit.

For example, if you have always wanted to write, choose a genre. If you are into poetry, pick a subject and theme. Decide whether you want your poem to rhyme or be free verse! Then write. If you are writing ✍️ fiction, decide whether you want to write a short story, novela or novel. If you are into nonfiction, you might want to start simply by posting on social media, the Community pages or blogging on your own website. Maybe, you would like to write a “Letter to the editor” or possibly write an essay just for yourself. It is a good idea to keep a journal so that you can express your feelings on a daily basis. You can write an e-mail to a friend who is lonely or not feeling well. A card would be an even better idea! The main thing is to write if that’s your passion! You can find peace within yourself and help others!

If seeing a Broadway play fills you with joy and excitement, why not begin by researching what’s available in the next few months. Read a synopsis of each and decide which you would like to see. There’s nothing left but to call a friend who also enjoys a day or night in the city, including dinner at a nice restaurant, followed by a play. Arrange a date that is acceptable to both of you and order the tickets! Just do it! Now you have something exciting to look forward to! You’d be surprised at how much happier you would feel once you have something enjoyable to think about and to plan for.

When we awake each morning, there is an opportunity before us to create a better version of ourselves and to find more happiness in so doing. In a way, then, each day provides another chance to improve ourselves and to relate better to those around us. If we have gotten things wrong in the past, each day provides a new opportunity to get things right!

This is just the beginning of many encouraging and, hopefully, inspiring posts on this website to help you feel better during what appears to be a challenging month for so many people! Try applying some of the ideas in today’s post and visit with me again tomorrow!
